Intro

Leeenux Linux is a Linux distribution, complete operating system like Microsoft Windows or MAC OS X, aimed at netbooks, although it works an all Desktop PCs and Laptops.

It is based on the latest Long Term Support (LTS) Ubuntu (which is based on Debian), thus it is supported until April 2021.

It has been tested to work out of box on Asus eee and eeepc, Acer Aspire, MSI Wind and other netbooks and nettops. If there is something that does not work right away, there is email support to help you resolve the issue. It works on Celeron, Pentium, Atom and other x86 and x64 CPUs.

Leeenux comes in many different flavors to match your taste and need. Choose what you like.

Q&A

Q: What is new in version 2020?
A: It is based on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS – the most stable base (it is improvement over the Ubuntu and derivatives, with many more features and bugfixes). It is an evolutionary step over previous version, not revolutionary – but it is better in every way for just a bit. Version 2020 is with LXDE only editions: 4G, LXDE, Live Linux Games, and Kids.

Q: What is new in v10?
A: It is based on Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial Xerus LTS.

Q: What is the difference from the other Linux Distributions?
A: This distribution is tailored for small screens and interfaces netbooks have. It has been tuned to work faster and takes less space. It is optimized for SSD.

Q: What are the minimum system requirements?
A: The recommended minimum is Asus eee 2G: Celeron at 900MHz, 2GB Hard Drive (HDD) or Solid State Drive (SSD), 512MB RAM.

Q: Why Leeenux (and Linux in general) and not MS Windows (7, XP, 8.1, 10) or MAC OS X (Yosemite, Mavericks, Mountain Lion…)?
A: It is more secure, it is faster, you don’t need an antivirus, almost all the apps in the store are free, it is far more customizable and there is an issue of the price tag.

Q: Will it work on iPAD or instead of Android on Tablets (from Samsung, HTC, Toshiba etc.). Maybe on Raspberry Pi?
A: No, it requires x86 or x64 CPU, and most of the tablets and iPAD use ARM processors. However, it works on Ultrabooks.
